Humanscale Diffrient Lounge

A calm, detail-driven film introducing Humanscale’s Diffrient Lounge chair, a product that reimagines the boundaries between work and rest.

Designed by Niels Diffrient, the chair blends comfort and utility in a form intended for both relaxation and focused work. The film explores its multifunctional features through abstract environments, layered sound design, and precision driven animations. With creative direction from Rhys Jones and Kevin Sanders at Humanscale, the project was developed to function both as a product reveal and a subtle expression of the chair’s design intent. From the integrated device-ready table to the articulating back and headrest, every element is presented through a blend of cinematic realism and stripped-down technical views, including X-ray style sequences that reveal the internal mechanics. The film was shared across Humanscale’s channels as part of the Diffrient Lounge’s launch campaign.
