A calm, detail-driven film introducing Humanscale’s Diffrient Lounge chair, a product that reimagines the boundaries between work and rest.

Designed by Niels Diffrient, the chair blends comfort and utility in a form intended for both relaxation and focused work. The film explores its multifunctional features through abstract environments, layered sound design, and precision-driven animations. With creative direction from Rhys Jones and Kevin Sanders at Humanscale, the project was developed to function both as a product reveal and a subtle expression of the chair’s design intent. From the integrated device-ready table to the articulating back and headrest, every element is presented through a blend of cinematic realism and stripped-down technical views, including X-ray-style sequences that reveal the internal mechanics. The film was shared across Humanscale’s channels as part of the Diffrient Lounge’s launch campaign.
